Moscow expands foreign agents list, targets media, journalist abroad
The Russian Ministry of Justice has expanded its registry of foreign agents, officially including the online media project “Kontinent” and journalist Polina Milushkova, the ministry announced.
According to the ministry, “Kontinent” disseminated false information about decisions of Russian authorities, publicly opposed the war in Ukraine, and participated in the creation and circulation of content produced by foreign agents. The ministry noted that the project is owned by a media group operating outside Russia, and several of its employees have also been added to the foreign agents registry.
The ministry further accused Milushkova of spreading misleading information regarding Russian government decisions and policies, and of producing content that negatively portrayed the Russian Armed Forces.
Additionally, the ministry stated that Milushkova publicly opposed the war in Ukraine, took part in distributing materials from foreign agents and undesirable organizations, and maintains cooperation with foreign agents while residing abroad.
