Georgian PM pledges education system reforms
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said the government would decide on possible education reforms after consulting with the country’s education minister, stressing that the current system is failing to meet students’ needs.
Speaking to reporters, Kobakhidze said he would refrain from making premature statements ahead of a planned meeting with the education minister, where officials will hear the minister’s assessment before taking concrete decisions, Caliber.Az cites.
He described Georgia’s education system as being in a “grave situation” and argued that it does not provide students with a sufficient quality of education.
Kobakhidze emphasised that political disagreements or personal interests should not stand in the way of reform, saying the government’s primary goal is to ensure high-quality education for young people in Georgia. He added that authorities would make every effort to improve the system and strengthen knowledge-sharing for future generations.
