Moscow court fines Pinterest operator for failing to remove banned content

The Tagansky District Court in Moscow has fined Pinterest Europe Limited, the operator of Pinterest in Europe and Russia, 10.8 million rubles (about $120,000) for failing to remove content banned under Russian law.

The company was found guilty on two administrative charges under Parts 2 and 4 of Article 13.41 of Russia’s Code of Administrative Offences, which concern failure to remove information when legally required to do so, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media

“Pinterest Europe Limited is hereby ordered to pay an administrative fine totalling 10 million 800 thousand rubles,” the judge announced.

Pinterest Europe Limited is an Irish company that operates the Pinterest service in Europe and Russia. Russian courts have previously fined the company several times over alleged violations of local legislation.
