Russia expects provocations during September election, official says

Russia’s Central Election Commission expects a significant number of provocations during the upcoming September elections from “people who fled” the country, CEC Chair Ella Pamfilova has stated.

Speaking at a commission meeting, she said that fugitives include Ukrainian diasporas, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

“We already know about and expect a significant number of provocations from some people who have fled, from active anti-Russian elements, Ukrainian diasporas and other, other, other elements who hate Russia and are preparing a number of provocations from abroad,” Pamfilova noted.

She cited as an example attempts to deliberately cast multiple votes.
