“Overnight on September 11, the enemy attacked with 66 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types launched from Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, more than 50 of them being Shahed UAVs,” the Air Force noted, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
Ukraine’s anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, unmanned forces, and mobile fire groups responded to the assault.
According to preliminary figures, as of 09:00 a.m. Kyiv time, 62 Russian UAVs were either destroyed or suppressed in northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country. Four drones managed to hit three locations.
Air raid alerts were issued across several regions on the evening of September 11, particularly in the north and east. At around 01:00 a.m., explosions were reported in Sumy, where the Sumy Regional Military Administration confirmed that attack drones struck the Zarichny district of the city.
The strikes hit a residential area and a school, sparking a fire. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service released footage showing the aftermath of the attack in the regional center.
