Top US diplomat stands with Iran’s “brave people” as protests escalate
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed support for the people of Iran as authorities in the country imposed a near-total internet blackout in an attempt to suppress widespread anti-government protests.
“The United States supports the brave people of Iran,” Rubio posted on X, reaffirming US solidarity with demonstrators challenging state restrictions and repression, Caliber.Az reports.

The unrest comes amid escalating tensions in Iran, where protests have spread nationwide following economic grievances and political dissent. The disruption of internet services has further limited the flow of information, making reporting from within the country increasingly difficult.
Separately, US President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iranian leaders on Friday, stating, “You better not start shooting because we'll start shooting too,” highlighting continued US concern over potential escalations in the region.
