Russia launches 96 drone strikes on Ukraine, seven locations hit
On the night of Tuesday, October 14, the Russian military launched a large-scale drone attack on Ukraine, deploying 96 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various types, including Shahed and Gerbera drones, according to Ukrainian media, citing the Ukrainian Air Force.
The attacks began from 19:00 on Monday, October 13, with drones approaching Ukraine from six directions: Millerovo, Bryansk, Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Crimea.
As of 08:30 on October 14, preliminary data indicated that Ukraine’s air defences had successfully shot down or suppressed 69 of the incoming drones across the north, south, east, and central regions of the country.
Despite these defensive measures, 27 UAVs managed to strike seven locations, and wreckage from one drone was recorded at a separate site. The situation remains under assessment as Ukrainian authorities continue to evaluate the damage and maintain air defence readiness.
