Russia launches over 400 drones, 40 missiles at Ukraine Some targeting Poland
Ukraine has reported that Russia launched 415 drones and more than 40 cruise and ballistic missiles overnight on September 10, with eight armed drones reportedly directed towards Poland.
The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, described the attacks as a “highly dangerous precedent for Europe” and a further escalation by Moscow, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
“Russia is constantly testing the limits of what is possible. If it meets no strong response, it escalates to a new level.
Today, Russian-Iranian Shahed drones operated in Polish and NATO airspace — not just a single drone, which could be considered accidental, but at least eight armed drones aimed at Poland,” Zelenskyy said.
According to the Ukrainian Air Forces, a total of 458 aerial threats were recorded during the attack, including:
-
415 armed drones, including Shahed, Gerber, and other types, launched from Russian locations such as Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Oryol, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chauda (Crimea), of which over 250 were Shahed drones.
-
42 cruise and air-launched missiles, including Kh-101, Kalibr, and Kh-59(69), were fired from Russia’s Saratov region and the Black Sea.
-
1 ballistic missile, an Iskander-M/KN-23, from Russia’s Voronezh region.
Ukrainian air defences, supported by electronic warfare units, drones, and mobile fire groups, intercepted or neutralised 413 targets, including 386 drones and 27 missiles.
Preliminary reports indicate that 16 missiles and 21 drones struck 17 locations across Ukraine.
