Explosion at biotechnology facility in northern China kills five
An explosion at a biotechnology company’s workshop in Shanyin County, Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province, has killed five people, local authorities confirmed on February 7.
The blast occurred on the morning of February 7. Emergency responders conducted a thorough search and rescue operation, locating all five individuals who had been trapped at the scene. According to a report by China Central Television (CCTV), none of those found showed signs of life, Caliber.Az reports via Chinese media.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined. Authorities have launched an investigation and are carrying out related follow‑up work.
No further details on the identities of the victims or the company involved have been released so far.
