Latvian coach slams transportation, training conditions at 2026 Olympics
Latvia’s national luge coach, Daniels Fogelis, has voiced concerns over the logistical arrangements at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, Press reports.
Fogelis, highlighted transportation issues faced by his athletes, noting that Berzins Gints and Kristers Aparjods spent approximately an hour waiting in line after training, only to be unable to board a bus. The two ultimately had to seek assistance from a local resident to reach the Olympic Village.
The coach also drew attention to training conditions, pointing out that lugers, skeleton athletes, and bobsledders are compelled to share a single, confined training facility, creating additional challenges for the competitors.
The 2026 Winter Games are currently underway from February 6 to 22 in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
