Russia downs 19 Ukrainian drones in overnight operation
In an overnight operation on September 14, Russian air defence forces successfully intercepted and shot down 19 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defence reported the incident via its Telegram channel, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the Ministry, 10 of the drones were neutralized over the Kursk Region, while the remaining nine were downed over the Belgorod Region. The Ministry characterized these actions by Ukraine as attempts to execute terrorist attacks on Russian facilities.
This recent escalation follows an attempted drone strike by the Ukrainian Army on September 12, which targeted six Russian regions. The Russian Defence Ministry reported that, during that night, air defence systems managed to intercept and destroy 20 Ukrainian drones.
