Russian MFA: Surrendered Ukraine’s Azov fighters to be convicted
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Andrey Rudenko, has said that he does not have information about the countries that can take part in the activity of the international tribunal in the unrecognized "DPR" (Donetsk People’s Republic) over the fighters of Ukraine’s Azov Regiment who surrendered at Azovstal iron and steel works.
Rudenko noted that Russia is not considering the possibility of exchanging Azov fighters (for Russian prisoners of war) before their trial.
The authorities of the "Donetsk People's Republic" intend to hold a tribunal over the "Azov fighters".
“We will consider all issues after the Ukrainian militants, who have surrendered, are appropriately convicted, a sentence is passed, then some other actions may be taken. Until then, it is too early to talk about the exchange of prisoners of war,” he added.
