Saudi energy chief hails Azerbaijani president for turning war victory into historic peace

05 September 2025 20:50

Mohammad Abunayyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACWA Power of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan on the signing of the Joint Declaration between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington D.C. on August 8, 2025.

In a formal letter, Abunayyan praised the Azerbaijani leadership for transforming military success into a diplomatic milestone, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

“Under your visionary leadership, Azerbaijan achieved a decisive victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, restoring its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he wrote.

“Today, you have transformed that military success into a diplomatic triumph – securing a just and lasting peace that will shape the future of the region.”

Abunayyan highlighted that the achievement reflects President Aliyev’s commitment to stability and prosperity, noting his ability to “lead with foresight and determination, turning challenges into opportunities for lasting progress.”

ACWA Power expressed its support for Azerbaijan’s sustainable growth in this new era of peace and cooperation.

“We at ACWA Power are honoured to witness this important moment in Azerbaijan’s history and remain committed to supporting the country’s sustainable growth and development,” Abunayyan said.

The letter concluded with warm wishes for continued success: “Please accept my sincere congratulations and best wishes for your continued success in guiding Azerbaijan toward an even brighter future.”
