South Korea, Vietnam plan to expand nuclear cooperation
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung held talks in Hanoi with Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, pledging to expand cooperation in nuclear energy, infrastructure, and the broader energy sector.
Lee said South Korea aims to become a “reliable partner” in supporting Vietnam’s plans to modernise its economy, including its goal of achieving developed-country status by 2045, Caliber.Az reports, citing Korean media.
Seoul proposed deepening cooperation in nuclear power projects, transport infrastructure, and energy development, as well as establishing a joint framework for long-term regional development linked to the Red River basin.
The Vietnamese prime minister stated that the South Korean president’s visit gives momentum to bilateral relations and expressed interest in expanding economic cooperation.
Earlier, Lee also met with Vietnam’s top leadership, including the president and the general secretary of the ruling party, where discussions focused on expanding supply chains and strengthening energy cooperation.
