At least seven killed in Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon

At least seven people were killed and more than 20 others injured in Israeli airstrikes on several areas of southern Lebanon on the morning of September 6, Lebanese official sources said.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry Emergency Operations Centre said two people were killed and two others injured in Nabatieh al-Fawqa. Eight people, including a woman and a girl, were also injured in the Al-Rahibat neighbourhood of Nabatieh, Anadolu reports.

The Health Ministry said the overall civilian death toll since the latest military escalation began on March 2 had reached 4,362, with 12,378 people injured.

According to the ministry, an Israeli Air Force aircraft struck a residential building in the town of Kfar Remman overnight. Several bodies of people killed or injured were recovered from beneath the rubble during clearance operations.

“Rescue operations are continuing; the number of fatalities and injured may rise,” the ministry stated.
