Uzbekistan, China strengthen cooperation on transnational crime

07 September 2026 10:59

Uzbekistan and China have agreed to strengthen cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and other forms of transnational crime, Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry said.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Interior Minister Aziz Tashpulatov and China’s Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong as part of Tashpulatov’s official visit to China, Caliber.Az reports.

The two sides discussed measures to deepen cooperation between their law enforcement agencies, with particular attention to countering organised and transnational crime.

They also discussed the exchange of expertise in cybersecurity and digital forensics, as well as expanding practical cooperation between the two ministries.

The ministers agreed to continue implementing a 2026–2027 roadmap for cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and China.

They also discussed developing cooperation between the two countries’ interior and public security ministries within the "Central Asia–China" framework.
