SpaceX successfully launches Türkiye's first home-grown communications satellite VIDEO
SpaceX successfully launched Türkiye's first domestically developed communications satellite, Türksat 6A, into orbit using its Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, USA.
This milestone launch marks a significant achievement for Türkiye's space program, with the satellite's initial signal received 67 minutes after liftoff, Caliber.Az reports citing Turkish media.
Türksat 6A is designed to provide extensive coverage across a broad service area that includes India, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, effectively increasing the reach of Turkish satellite services from 3.5 billion to 5 billion people.
The satellite, entirely developed using national resources, underscores Türkiye's growing prowess in satellite technology.
The project, initiated on December 15, 2014, involved collaboration between the Turkish Space Agency and leading local entities such as TÜBITAK UZAY, Türksat AŞ, ASELSAN, C2Tech, and TUSAŞ, highlighting Türkiye's commitment to advancing its capabilities in space exploration and satellite manufacturing.
