Syria calls on UN to stop Israeli crimes in Gaza Strip
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has published a statement expressing strong condemnation of the recent Israeli attack on the Nuseirat refugee camp which claimed the lives of 274 people.
"Israel continues to commit the most heinous massacres through their blind attack against the Palestinian people in Gaza, which claimed the lives of 274 martyrs and wounded 698 in Nuseirat camp on June 8," Al Mayadeen reports.
"Israeli terrorist army committed another horrible massacre against innocent civilians, and there is evidence proving Washington's complicity in this massacre and in all war crimes committed in Gaza," the ministry added.
No words can come close to describing the scale of barbarity, which has been recognised by both the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court (ICC), the statement adds.
Syria, which has consistently stood alongside the Palestinian cause against fascism, reiterates the imperative for holding the perpetrator of these crimes — Israel accountable before international courts, the statement concludes.
