China urges Canada to cease political manipulation, interference in internal affairs
China has called on Canada to stop its political manipulation and interference in the internal affairs of the Republic, particularly under the guise of protecting human rights.
During a briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning reiterated the country's stance, emphasizing that Beijing would not tolerate foreign interference, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
"China once again urges Canada to stop interfering in any way in the internal affairs of the PRC and stop engaging in political manipulation on issues related to human rights," Mao stated, responding to recent tensions over Canada's involvement in issues related to Xinjiang and Tibet.
The call comes after China imposed sanctions on two Canadian organizations— the Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project and the Canada-Tibet Committee— along with their personnel. These measures were taken due to the organizations' activities concerning the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and the Tibet Autonomous Region.
As part of the sanctions, China has frozen the property of these organizations within its territory and banned Chinese companies and individuals from cooperating with them. Additionally, employees of these organizations are prohibited from entering China.
