Tehran governor: Up to 80 million liters of fuel lost after tank destruction

Up to 80 million liters of fuel were lost following the destruction of storage tanks earlier this year, Tehran’s governor Mohammadsadegh Motamedian said on April 27.

Motamedian called on the public to help manage the consumption of key resources, including water, electricity, gas and fuel, amid ongoing pressures on supply, Iran International reports.

He added that fuel consumption has dropped by around 50%, citing reduced traffic and increased use of public transportation. Despite the losses, he said no gas stations have been forced to shut down.
