Kazakhstan says CPC oil intake resumes after temporary suspension

The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), whose infrastructure and tankers came under repeated attacks in July, has resumed accepting 100,000 tonnes of oil per day, Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry said in a statement on Telegram.

The ministry said the consortium was forced to suspend operations on its pipeline on July 31. However, it continued receiving crude from shippers and filling its storage facilities.

“Since August 1, the volume of oil intake has amounted to 100,000 tonnes per day. Further increases in transportation volumes will depend on the timely arrival of tankers for loading at the marine terminal,” the ministry noted.

The statement added that the authorities remain in close contact with representatives of the CPC and oil shippers.

The ministry also dismissed reports suggesting that the consortium's operations could be halted entirely, stressing that such a scenario is not currently under consideration.
