Fars: Iran denies plans to reopen Strait of Hormuz

Iran does not intend to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and reports that Tehran has accepted a Qatari-mediated proposal to restore shipping through the strategic waterway are false, a source close to Iran's negotiating team told Fars News Agency.

According to the source, no agreement has been reached on resuming maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, and reports suggesting otherwise are inaccurate.

The source added that the strait will remain closed for as long as “the United States continues its hostile actions.”
