Türkiye detains suspect linked to 2016 Erdoğan assassination attempt
Turkish authorities have detained a suspected participant in the attempted assassination of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the failed coup attempt in July 2016, the Interior Ministry said on X.
The arrest took place in Afyonkarahisar province, where security forces apprehended an individual alleged to be a member of the FETÖ network, which Ankara blames for orchestrating the coup attempt, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry.

According to the ministry, the suspect had been on an international wanted list for the past decade before being taken into custody.
