Ten injured in Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia region amid heavy overnight shelling
At least ten people were injured in Russian attacks on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
In a statement posted on Telegram, Fedorov said Russian forces carried out 844 strikes on 35 settlements across the region over the past 24 hours. The attacks involved more than 486 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various types, four multiple rocket launcher strikes, and 338 artillery attacks targeting residential areas and infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports.
Local authorities received 122 reports of damage to homes and critical infrastructure, Fedorov added. The Polohivsky district was among the hardest-hit areas.
Separately, Ukraine’s General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that Russia launched more than 171 drones and one Iskander-M ballistic missile in an overnight attack across the country.
Ukrainian air defence units — including the air force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups — were deployed to repel the assault. According to the military, 157 drones were shot down or electronically suppressed in northern, southern, and eastern regions of Ukraine.
Despite the defence efforts, ballistic missile impacts and 12 strike drones were recorded at eight different locations, the General Staff said.
