Thousands of Karabakh Armenians leave country, few return

The National Security Service of Armenia said that over 10,000 Armenians voluntarily leaving the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan have left Armenia via air and land routes as of June 1.

Out of 17,743 individuals who departed, only 7,435 have returned, indicating that 10,308 Karabakh Armenians have chosen to settle elsewhere, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.

These statistics highlight a notable increase of 383 departures compared to figures from May 1. The ongoing exodus underscores the significant impact of recent geopolitical developments on the Armenian population in the region.
