Top UNESCO official, Azerbaijani FM discuss organisation’s activity in Baku PHOTO

President of UNESCO Executive Board Tamara Rastovac Siamashvili has arrived on a visit to Azerbaijan.

As part of her visit, Siamashvili met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Caliber.Az reports.

"Delighted to be in Azerbaijan and honoured to be received by Jeyhun Bayramov. We exchanged views on several important issues for the work of UNESCO’s Executive Board," Siamashvili wrote on Twitter.

Azerbaijan and UNESCO have been enjoying successful cooperation since 1992.

In 2003, they signed a comprehensive framework agreement covering areas such as culture, science, education, and communication.

Many Azerbaijani cultural sites have been included in UNESCO's World Heritage List, including Icharishahar (Old City) with Maiden Tower, Shirvanshah's Palace, Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Reserve, etc.
