Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan commence joint command and staff exercises PHOTO
The joint computer-assisted command-staff exercise "Mastery-2024" has officially begun, following the signing of the "Plan of Bilateral Cooperation for 2024" by the Ministries of Defence of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
During the opening ceremony, attendees observed a moment of silence to honour the heroes from both nations who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of their homeland, after which the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan were played, Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.
Major General Vugar Aliverdiyev, who addressed the gathering, emphasized that the exercises aim to enhance military cooperation between the two countries, foster a unified approach to regional security challenges, and improve the coordination and effectiveness of allied forces, thereby strengthening their bilateral strategic partnership.
The "Mastery-2024" exercise is scheduled to continue until October 6.
