According to information shared by the ministry with Caliber.Az, the sides exchanged views on Azerbaijani-Slovak cooperation and discussed current regional and international developments.
Minister Bayramov expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Lajčák for his contributions to strengthening bilateral and multilateral ties between the two countries and wished him success in his future endeavours.
Both sides emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits, political consultations, and direct contacts in advancing bilateral relations.
They also highlighted the significance of last year’s meeting between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Slovakia on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, as well as recent foreign minister-level talks held at various international platforms.
Bayramov and Lajčák, who assumed his role as ambassador in 2022, noted the strong potential for expanding cooperation in trade, economy, science, culture, and other areas.
The Slovak ambassador thanked Azerbaijani officials for their support throughout his tenure and expressed hope for the continued development of Azerbaijan–Slovakia relations.
The two countries have established diplomatic relations on November 23, 1993. There is an Azerbaijani consulate office in Bratislava, with President Ilham Aliyev having signed a decree in 2023 on the intention of opening a permanent embassy in the near future.
