Azerbaijan enhances international defence ties during key meetings at IDEF 2025 PHOTO

At the ongoing 17th International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF 2025) in Istanbul, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defence Industry, Vugar Mustafayev, held significant meetings aimed at strengthening military-technical cooperation.

As Caliber.Az reports, Mustafayev met with key defence officials, including Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Defence Khalid bin Hussein Al-Biyari, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence Bello Muhammad Matawalle, Somalia’s Minister of Defence Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, and South Africa’s Deputy Minister of Defence Bantubonke Harrington Holomisa.

These discussions focused on exploring and enhancing opportunities for defence collaboration between Azerbaijan and these countries.

IDEF 2025 is currently taking place under the auspices of the Turkish Presidency and Ministry of National Defence and is organised by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation in cooperation with KFA Fuarcılık. The event is spread across several venues, including the Istanbul Expo Centre, Atatürk Airport, WOW Hotel Congress Centre, and Ataköy Marina.

This year’s fair features participation from over 900 domestic companies and 400 international firms representing 44 countries.

National pavilions are showcased by countries including Azerbaijan, the UAE, China, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. The event draws high-level delegations and official representatives from at least 103 countries, affirming IDEF’s status as one of the world’s premier defence industry exhibitions.

The exhibition highlights a wide range of advanced technologies across land, sea, air, space, and cyber sectors, demonstrating the latest innovations in the global defence industry.
