Minister: Türkiye is striving to contribute to Zangezur corridor development
Türkiye is seeking to play a supportive role in the development of the Zangezur corridor, the country’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said.
Speaking with Turkish Akşam newspaper, the minister said that Azerbaijan and Armenia are continuing their talks on the project, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Uraloğlu expressed optimism that the issue could be resolved in the near future, noting that the corridor would provide a shorter and more direct connection to the Turkic world.
He underlined the strategic importance of transport corridors for Türkiye’s regional vision.
The minister also highlighted that Azerbaijan is making progress on both road and railway infrastructure, and said that Türkiye plans to begin construction on the Kars-Iğdır-Nakhchivan railway line within the year.
