Bahrain’s king praises Azerbaijan’s development in meeting with parliament speaker Photo

King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain highlighted Azerbaijan’s development and stressed the importance of further deepening bilateral relations during a meeting with Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova.

He also underscored the positive role of parliaments in expanding ties between the two countries and asked that his greetings be conveyed to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports per local media. 

Speaker Gafarova conveyed the president’s greetings to the King and emphasised that Azerbaijan-Bahrain relations are built on friendship, mutual trust, and respect. 

She noted that political ties open avenues for cooperation in economic, investment, and tourism sectors, and highlighted that 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

She also pointed out that this was the first official visit by an Azerbaijani parliamentary speaker to Bahrain and underlined that reciprocal visits and close contacts between parliaments help deepen legislative cooperation.

The discussion also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
