Kyrgyz parliament reviews efforts to boost ties with Azerbaijan, Georgia
Kyrgyzstan’s parliament, the Zhogorku Kenesh, has held hearings focused on strengthening political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation with Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Speaking at the session, Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan and Georgia, Maksat Mamytkanov, briefed lawmakers on the current state of bilateral relations and ongoing cooperation with both countries, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Members of the relevant parliamentary committee highlighted the need to deepen political dialogue and expand economic ties. During the discussions, it was noted that Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover with Azerbaijan reached $10 million in 2025, underscoring the importance of intensifying the work of the Azerbaijan–Kyrgyzstan Development Fund.
The hearings also addressed the expansion of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, with participants stressing its role in strengthening interstate relations and promoting public diplomacy.
