Azerbaijan, Georgia mull expanding legal cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, and Chairman of Georgia’s Bar Association, Irakli Kandashvili, discussed bilateral cooperation in the legal sphere during a meeting.
Ambassador Guliyev highlighted the important role of the legal profession in building a rule-of-law state and a fair judicial system, placing special emphasis on the significance of the legal profession in establishing an independent and transparent judiciary in Georgia, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The diplomat drew attention to the importance of successfully continuing the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia in the legal field as well. He underscored the need to expand cooperation between the relevant legal institutions of both countries, organise mutual exchanges of experience, implement joint initiatives, and strengthen institutional ties. Faig Guliyev expressed readiness to support coordination and cooperation efforts in this direction.
For his part, Irakli Kandashvili thanked the ambassador for the attention and congratulations and emphasised the importance of cooperation between the legal and lawyer communities of Azerbaijan and Georgia. He stated his willingness to further deepen ties in this area, implement mutually beneficial initiatives, and strengthen institutional cooperation.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
