Azerbaijan updates Israel on normalisation process with Armenia
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, briefed his Israeli counterpart, Gideon Saar, on the ongoing process of normalising relations between Baku and Yerevan.
Speaking at a joint press briefing in Baku, Bayramov said he had provided Saar with details on the current situation in the South Caucasus, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“At the same time, I informed my colleague about the historic meeting in Washington on August 8, 2025,” he added.
Bayramov also noted that the discussions covered the reconstruction of territories recently liberated from occupation, the return of displaced persons, and the threat posed by landmines.
Moreover, according to Bayramov, parties have discussed prospects for joint entry into the Central Asian markets.
“During my meeting with my Israeli colleague Gideon Saar, we assessed opportunities and prospects for Israeli businesses in Azerbaijan,” Bayramov said.
“In particular, we had a very interesting exchange of ideas on areas such as the free economic zone, the potential for project implementation in Azerbaijan, and access to a very large and promising market in Central Asia.”
