Israeli FM praises Azerbaijan as model Muslim-majority nation PHOTO
On his visit to Azerbaijan, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar met with Jewish community leaders in Baku, describing the country as a model among Muslim-majority nations.
He stated on Instagram that today, around 30,000 Jews live in Azerbaijan alongside the country’s Muslim population in an atmosphere of mutual respect, religious tolerance, and freedom of belief, Caliber.Az reports.
"For generations, Azerbaijan has served as an example and a model of a Muslim-majority country that enables prosperity and safe lives for the Jewish community.
I believe in the ties between the two countries. The large Jewish community that immigrated to Israel and the Jews who remain in Azerbaijan constitute a strong human bridge for the relations between the two countries, which are growing stronger across many dimensions. We will continue to strengthen them,” Sa’ar noted.
