Baku, Tehran discuss recent developments in Iran during diplomatic meeting
On January 23, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahid Jalalzadeh, who is visiting Azerbaijan, to discuss the ongoing situation in Iran as well as broader bilateral and regional issues.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Jalalzadeh provided detailed updates on recent events in Iran, while Bayramov expressed Baku’s concern for stability in the country and extended condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives, Caliber.Az reports.
The two officials also highlighted the importance of presidential-level contacts, mutual visits, and continued political dialogue in strengthening Azerbaijani-Iranian relations. They reaffirmed the significance of the joint State Commission on Trade, Economic, and Humanitarian Cooperation in expanding bilateral cooperation.
Bayramov and Jalalzadeh additionally discussed prospects for partnership in the transport and communications sectors, noting that ongoing projects between the two countries play a key role in regional transport corridors.
Other issues of mutual interest were also exchanged during the meeting.
