Media: Iran’s top security official plans visit to Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani presidential aide, Head of Presidential Administration's Foreign Policy Affairs Department Hikmet Hajiyev and Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Akbar Ahmadian discussed the latter’s upcoming visit to Baku during a phone call.

According to Iranian media, Ali Akbar Ahmadian is expected to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan. Preparations for the upcoming visit were discussed during the conversation, Caliber.Az reports via local media. 

Furthermore, Hajiyev extended condolences to the Iranian side over the loss of lives resulting from the recent escalation with Israel.

The two officials reaffirmed the importance of further strengthening Azerbaijan-Iran relations and highlighted the necessity of implementing agreements reached at the presidential level.

The sides also discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda.
