Senator Daines: Stronger Azerbaijan-Israel ties key to US national security

Senator Steve Daines emphasised on his X account the importance of strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and Israel, describing it as essential for the national security of the United States.

 His statement came following hearings held by the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee focusing on the situation in the Middle East.

“Strengthening the relationship between Israel & Azerbaijan is critical for national security & countering the threats that Israel faces from Iran,” Daines wrote.

At the hearings, the senator also referred to his recent meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku as “very productive.”

He highlighted that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel is set to grow stronger, particularly in light of the agreement with SOCAR, which he noted “will help diversify Israel's energy capabilities.”
