Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan foreign ministers talk over strategic partnership UPDATED
The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have held a telephone conversation focused on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across key sectors, according to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
Jeyhun Bayramov and Bakhtiyor Saidov discussed the allied relationship between the two countries, including preparations for upcoming high-level visits and the implementation of previously reached agreements.
The two sides placed particular emphasis on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, transport, logistics and broader economic ties, the ministry said.
They also reviewed coordination within regional and international frameworks, including the Organisation of Turkic States and the United Nations.
The ministers additionally exchanged views on current regional and global developments.

The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan discussed the further development of strategic ties and cooperation across several sectors during a telephone call on Saturday (June 20), Uzbekistan's top diplomat said.
Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov said he had spoken with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov, about the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries.
The ministers also exchanged views on the schedule of upcoming meetings and events at various levels, Saidov said in a post on social media.
Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, transport and logistics, energy, and other areas of mutual interest.
The two sides also reviewed other issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda, Saidov added.
