Polish envoy: Media "incidents" should not affect Baku-Warsaw ties

12 September 2026 14:32

Polish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pawel Radomski has said media reports and what he described as occasional “incidents” should not affect relations between Baku and Warsaw, stressing that bilateral ties remain at a good level.

Radomski made the remarks to APA during a visit by the diplomatic corps to Karabakh and East Zangezur, where he also spoke positively about Azerbaijan’s reconstruction efforts in the territories.

“This visit leaves me with only pleasant and very good impressions. This is not my first visit to Karabakh; I think it is already my fourth. Therefore, above all, I have an opportunity to compare the progress being made in the restoration, reconstruction and modernization work being carried out in the liberated territories. And it is completely open, completely clear that this progress is indeed very significant.

The Azerbaijani people and government are demonstrating a determination that I admire. Because carrying out such work requires the investment of many resources and substantial financial means. And the beauty of the restored city of Shusha is truly striking,” the ambassador said.

Radomski also addressed what he described as biased or inaccurate portrayals of Azerbaijan in some Polish media, while noting that Azerbaijani media have at times published articles presenting Poland in an inaccurate light.

“I believe that bilateral relations between Poland and Azerbaijan are at a good level. We maintain constant contact, and we have a certain mechanism for monitoring bilateral cooperation. There is a good dialogue between us, and we have certain plans for developing it further,” he said.

“If some publications appear in the Polish media, or if articles sometimes appear in the Azerbaijani media that create an inaccurate image of Poland, I believe that this should simply be treated as ‘incidents.’ Such cases should not affect bilateral relations, and I am confident that they will not affect them,” Radomski stressed.
