Azerbaijan, Jordan to scrap visa requirements

11 September 2026 11:12

Azerbaijan and Jordan are moving toward abolishing visa requirements for citizens travelling between the two countries on ordinary passports.

A bill concerning the implementation of a bilateral agreement on visa-free travel has been included on the agenda of a meeting of the Azerbaijani parliament’s Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations, scheduled for September 14, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Under the agreement, citizens of Azerbaijan and Jordan holding ordinary passports would be mutually exempt from visa requirements when travelling between the two countries.

The proposed arrangement is expected to facilitate travel and strengthen people-to-people ties between Azerbaijan and Jordan, while further supporting bilateral relations, including tourism and business exchanges.

Following consideration by the parliamentary committee, the bill is expected to proceed through the legislative process in Azerbaijan.
