Baku’s multilateral diplomacy takes UN spotlight in New York
Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Khalilur Rahman, President of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, in New York, to discuss Azerbaijan's parliamentary diplomacy.
The meeting focused on relations between Azerbaijan and the United Nations, as well as Azerbaijan’s contributions to UN activities and its work within the organization, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The sides highlighted the role of the Azerbaijani parliament and parliamentary diplomacy in advancing multilateralism and strengthening international cooperation.
Gafarova also briefed Rahman on the activities of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, highlighting its role in promoting parliamentary dialogue and cooperation among member states.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on a range of other issues of mutual interest.
