Azerbaijan, EU put deeper cooperation, regional stability in focus PHOTO

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus Magdalena Grono explored ways to expand Azerbaijan-EU cooperation, bilateral partnership prospects and regional peace and stability.

Bayramov received Grono on September 10, with the talks also covering the current situation in the region and ongoing efforts to strengthen peace and stability, Caliber.Az reports per the ministry.

The sides emphasised the importance of mutual visits and high-level contacts in advancing the bilateral agenda and expanding cooperation across various areas. They also discussed further developing the institutional and legal framework of Azerbaijan-EU relations, completing negotiations on the Partnership Priorities document, and prospects for negotiations on a new bilateral agreement.

Bayramov briefed Grono on Baku’s efforts to ensure peace and security in the South Caucasus, normalise relations with Armenia and build mutual trust. He stressed the importance of discussions held during the August meeting of the Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders in Bishkek for advancing the regional peace agenda.

The sides also exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including ongoing work in the region in the energy and communications sectors, as well as other bilateral and regional issues.
