UK envoy highlights Azerbaijan as dynamic, modern country with global reach

Newly appointed UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman has said that lasting peace in the South Caucasus would create new opportunities for trade, investment and regional connectivity.

Speaking at an event in Baku marking the birthday of King Charles III, he described Azerbaijan as a dynamic, modern country with strong global links, noting the importance of sustaining momentum towards peace, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

"Azerbaijan is entering a period of new opportunities, as for the first time in many years there is a real prospect of lasting peace in the South Caucasus. Peace will open new opportunities for trade, investment, and connectivity among the countries of the region. The task now is to make that peace long-lasting. However, despite all the changes I have witnessed, one thing has remained unchanged - the warmth and hospitality of the Azerbaijani people," he said.
