18 June 2026 21:18

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Pakistani counterpart Muhammad Ishaq Dar have held a phone call to exchange views on the understandings reached between the United States and Iran under the memorandum of understanding.

Azerbaijan highly appreciated Pakistan’s important mediating role in the negotiation process, particularly the personal contributions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir to the successful conclusion of the talks, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The sides noted that the agreement contributes to reducing tensions in the region, strengthening confidence, and advancing diplomatic avenues for settlement.

FM Bayramov expressed hope that further negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement would contribute to ensuring lasting peace, security, and stability.

The ministers also exchanged views on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
