Trump’s phone call with Azerbaijan’s Aliyev lasts over 40 minutes
A phone call between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and US President Donald Trump on August 8 lasted more than 40 minutes.
According to reliable sources cited by 1news.az, the call was initiated by Donald Trump and was timed to coincide with the first anniversary of the Washington peace summit held on August 8, 2025. The conversation between the Azerbaijani and US leaders took place in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
As previously reported by the official website of the President of Azerbaijan, Aliyev and Trump discussed the results of the year since the Washington summit, the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, as well as the development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States.
The sides particularly noted that peace and stability had been maintained in the region over the past year, with no incidents occurring that could harm the peace process. They also positively assessed the export of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia, the transit of cargo through Azerbaijan, and the launch of trade ties between the two countries.
