Trump to host Lebanon's president at White House on July 21
Lebanon's Embassy in Washington has confirmed that President Joseph Aoun will travel to Washington, D.C. on July 21 for an official meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a statement shared on X by New York City and UN correspondent Adla Massoud.
The embassy said the White House had extended an official invitation to President Aoun, describing the visit as a reflection of the enduring partnership between Lebanon and the United States.
According to the statement, the two leaders are expected to discuss bilateral relations, regional security, and continued U.S. support for Lebanon's sovereignty, stability, territorial integrity and state institutions.
The embassy added that the visit follows an intensive period of diplomatic engagement carried out in close coordination with the Lebanese presidency and senior U.S. administration officials.
It said its efforts focused on strengthening high-level bilateral dialogue and facilitating the arrangements that culminated in the official visit.
The statement also noted that the Embassy of Lebanon in Washington is coordinating all aspects of President Aoun's visit in collaboration with the Lebanese presidency, the White House and the U.S. Department of State to ensure a successful bilateral meeting.
