Türkiye’s MİT chief makes unannounced visit to Libya For high-level talks
Ibrahim Kalın, Director of Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT), made a surprise visit to the Libyan capital, Tripoli, on September 5 for a series of high-level meetings.
The visit marks a significant diplomatic gesture amid ongoing regional tensions, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Kalın was received by Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah at his office, where discussions focused on the strengthening of bilateral relations, regional developments, and recent Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. The meeting underscored Türkiye’s ongoing commitment to Libyan stability and unity.
During his visit, Kalın also met with key figures including vice presidents of the Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi and Musa Al Kony, members of the Supreme State Council, various ministers, and senior security and intelligence officials. These discussions revolved around current political and military developments in Libya.
Sources indicate that the meetings aimed to address Libya’s internal conflicts through national reconciliation and to reinforce Türkiye’s support for Libya’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
