Russia urges citizens to weigh necessity of travel to Iran
The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a recommendation urging Russian citizens to carefully consider the necessity of travelling to Iran amid ongoing regional tensions, despite recent signs of stabilisation in the country.
Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, stated that Iran’s airspace has reopened and international flights, including those through Tehran, have resumed following a period of disruption. She also confirmed that the consular section of the Russian Embassy in Tehran is now fully operational, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“Currently, we observe a reopening of the airspace of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the restoration of international air communication, including via Tehran, against the backdrop of certain stabilisation of the situation. The consular section of the Russian Embassy in Tehran is functioning normally,” Zakharova said.
However, she stressed that given the persistent instability in the region, Russian travellers should exercise prudence. She urged citizens to evaluate the necessity of their trips carefully and to stay alert by monitoring advisories issued by local authorities and Russian diplomatic missions.
