Iranian envoy, Armenian MPs discuss latest regional developments
The Iranian Ambassador to Yerevan held talks with members of the Armenian parliament to discuss the current state of regional affairs.
The press service of the Armenian Parliament has confirmed that on July 10, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, Sargis Khandanyan, met with Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Iran, strengthening interparliamentary relations, and reviewing developments in the regional landscape.
Both sides underscored the need to ensure security and advance efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability in the region.
The meeting followed a phone conversation held a day earlier between Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and his Iranian counterpart Aziz Nasirzadeh, during which regional security issues were reportedly at the forefront of discussions.
